ABOUT ME

About Me

Exercise has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember; I’ve always been the ‘sporty type’ and as a kid, I had dreams of becoming a PE teacher. It wasn’t until later in life, that I realised exercise not only benefitted me physically; but mentally too. Being active had such a positive impact on my mental wellbeing, and as a result, my mind knew when my body needed to move and gave me that drive to exercise. (Anyone else who’s ever felt that endorphin rush after a workout, will know that our brains have a clever way of thanking us for it too). I soon realised that exercise was almost like a form of therapy for me; something I could turn to, to help manage my mental health.

My own journey in mindfulness began after I became a Mum; I found the transition from goal-driven career woman to motherhood and back again a tricky one to navigate: I really struggled. After much research into self-help, I attended a course in Mindfulness to help with how I was feeling…and I’ve honestly never looked back since. After realising what a profound and positive effect Mindfulness was having on my own life, I wanted to learn more. I felt a passion to share it with others who wanted to learn about it and who might benefit from applying it in their own lives too.

Fast forward a few years; a Diploma in Personal Training, a wealth of training in Teaching Mindfulness to others via the Oxford University, a certificate in Mental Health First Aid AND a huge desire to bring my two passions together:
